HIS to Transfer Stake in Kamiyacho Trust Tower to Mori Trust

H.I.S. (HIS) will transfer its stake in the Kamiyacho Trust Tower to Mori Trust.

In June 2020, HIS relocated its headquarters from Nishi-Shinjuku in Tokyo to the 4th and 5th floors of the Kamiyacho Trust Tower. In September 2021, amid deteriorating business performance due to the impact of COVID-19, it transferred the trust beneficiary rights to SMFL Mirai Partners for 32.5 billion yen, and bought them back in October 2024 for the same amount. This March, the company moved its headquarters to the Sumitomo Realty & Development Shinjuku Central Park Building in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo.

The company states that it decided on the transfer in order to effectively utilize its management resources, strengthen its financial standing through the repayment of interest-bearing debt, and secure investment funds for sustainable growth. The contract signing date is scheduled for July 31, and the handover date for September 18. The gain on the transfer is expected to be approximately 500 million yen.
