Plan・Do・See will open the former Yokohama Yusen Building as THE MARITIME HOTEL YOKOHAMA BAY at the end of January 2027.
The hotel will offer 52 guest rooms across seven room types, all measuring at least 38 square meters. The interiors will be themed around ports around the world—including Bengal and Alexandria—that were connected to Yokohama by Nippon Yusen Kaisha’s regular shipping routes. The décor will vary in color and materials, featuring Bengal in green and red, sand-dusted Alexandria, Watabia in Delft blue, Anton in vermilion and jet black, Marseille in indigo, and Boston in ink gray.
The hotel will feature a lobby, an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, three banquet rooms, and a chapel filled with natural light and overlooking greenery through its windows. The lobby is designed to evoke a theater curtain, the dining venue a ship’s deck, and the bar an experimental space where Eastern and Western cultures meet once again.
