ZIPAIR to Launch Tokyo/Narita–Kuala Lumpur Service on October 20
China Eastern Airlines launched a new service between Shanghai/Pudong and Tbilisi on July 15.
The route operates three weekly round trips on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using an Airbus A330 aircraft. Flight time is 10 hours and 10 minutes from Shanghai/Pudong and 9 hours from Tbilisi.
Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, is an important gateway connecting Europe and Asia and a key hub in the Belt and Road Initiative. Known as the “Pearl of the Transcaucasus,” it blends medieval fortresses, Orthodox churches, sulfur baths, and modern cityscapes, and boasts a distinctive wine culture. Georgia permits visa-free entry for Chinese nationals. This is the first direct service linking China’s Yangtze River Delta region with Georgia.
