Qatar Airways Celebrates Expansion in Saudi Arabia with Commemorative Ceremony
Qatar Airways commemorated the expansion of its network in Saudi Arabia with a ceremony in AlUla.
The event was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud and the Royal Commission for AlUla, welcoming Qatar’s Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani and Qatar Airways Group CEO Mr. Akbar Al Baker. The delegation toured AlUla, including Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
Qatar Airways inaugurated flights from Doha to AlUla on October 29 with two round trips per week and from Doha to Tabuk on December 14 with three round trips per week, in addition to resuming flights on the Doha to Yanbu route with three weekly round trips starting December 6th. With these new flights, Saudi Arabia’s destinations served by Qatar Airways now include AlUla, Dammam, Qassim, Jeddah, Medina, NEOM, Riyadh, Tabuk, Taif, and Yanbu—a total of 10 cities—connecting Qatar and Saudi Arabia with 125 round trips per week.
