Amakusa Airlines has introduced a special fare, the “Kumamoto GOGO Recovery Support Discount,” for people affected by the Kumamoto earthquakes.
Eligible passengers are Kumamoto Prefecture residents living in homes listed as “damaged residences” on disaster victim certificates issued in connection with the Kumamoto earthquakes. Accompanying passengers must also be residents of damaged homes, with up to two people eligible to use the fare.
The travel period is from August 1 through November 30. Eligible routes are Amakusa–Fukuoka, Amakusa–Kumamoto, and Kumamoto–Osaka/Itami. The one-way fare is a flat 5,500 yen. The same fare applies to children.
Reservations can be requested through a dedicated form on the airline’s website, after which the reservation center will contact applicants by telephone. Payment can be made by credit card or at a convenience store. Reservations must be made at least three days before departure. Tickets must be purchased within five days of reservation confirmation or by 20 minutes before departure, whichever comes first.
