The Lufthansa Group will launch its “Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi” in-flight Wi-Fi service, powered by SpaceX’s low-Earth-orbit satellite communications service Starlink, on August 19.
The service will initially be introduced on Lufthansa German Airlines’ Airbus A320neo aircraft. It will be offered free of charge to Miles & More members and Travel ID users.
Based on customer feedback, users will be required to agree to the terms of use. The terms include requirements to always wear headphones when playing audio or video content, not to make voice or video calls, and not to livestream from onboard the aircraft.
By 2029, the service will be installed on a total of 850 aircraft across all airlines in the group, including Lufthansa German Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines.
