Air India Appoints Tewolde Gebremariam as CEO and Managing Director
All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Riyadh Air have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen their comprehensive partnership.
The partnership envisages an interline agreement, codeshare operations, and reciprocal cooperation between their mileage programs. It aims to strengthen the air network connecting Japan and Saudi Arabia and provide seamless travel experiences to destinations across the Middle East and Africa.
Under the interline agreement, passengers will be able to connect between flights operated by the two airlines on a single ticket. It will also support through check-in, allowing baggage to be checked through to the final destination at the point of departure. The codeshare arrangement is expected to cover routes from Riyadh to cities in the Middle East and Africa, from Tokyo to cities throughout Japan, and between major airports in Asia and Riyadh. The specific routes will be discussed going forward. For the mileage programs, the airlines will consider initiatives such as earning miles on flights and reciprocal use of award tickets.
