Uber Japan is running a “Zero Pickup Fee” campaign for Uber Taxi from July 27 through September 7.
Under the campaign, users who set their destination in the Uber app and request a ride by selecting an Uber Taxi displaying “Zero Pickup Fee” will have the pickup fee waived. Uber Japan will cover the pickup fee, while partner taxi companies will continue to receive the fee as usual.
The campaign is available throughout Osaka City, Higashi-Osaka City, Moriguchi City, Suita City, and Yao City, as well as in Sakai Ward, Sakai City. It is open to users in Japan and may be used any number of times during the campaign period, including by Uber for Business users. Rides to or from airports, cash payments, and rides booked using the reservation feature are excluded. Expressway and toll road charges, late-night and early-morning surcharges, and other fees may apply separately.
