Kumamoto Prefecture will offer the “Kumamoto Recovery Support Discount” under the government’s “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” travel assistance program for stays from October 1 through December 25.
The Kyushu Recovery Support Discount applies to travel and accommodation products in the Kyushu region that include at least one overnight stay, offering a 50% discount on travel and accommodation costs. Kumamoto and Kagoshima prefectures, where cancellations have had a particularly significant impact on tourism, will offer a 60% discount.
The maximum discount is 20,000 yen per night for accommodation-only products and transportation-inclusive accommodation travel products; 30,000 yen for transportation-inclusive accommodation travel products of two nights or more; and 35,000 yen for touring travel products that include stays in two or more prefectures.
Sales will begin at 10 a.m. on September 15. A dedicated special page will open the same day on the prefecture’s official tourism website, “Motto, Motto! Kumamoto.”, where sales channels will be listed.
