Iberia has announced an outline of its commemorative initiatives leading up to its 100th anniversary in 2027. Chairman and CEO Marco Sansavini unveiled a special 100th-anniversary livery to be applied to some aircraft. The airline also plans to operate a special anniversary flight, IB100.
A commemorative ceremony will be held in June 2027 at a hangar in La Muñoza, Madrid. In addition, Iberia will host an event at the Madrid Stock Exchange in collaboration with the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE), and will also hold commemorative events jointly with the Juan Sebastián de Elcano, a Spanish training tall ship that will likewise mark its 100th anniversary in 2027.
Meanwhile, Iberia Space in Madrid will relocate to 44 Calle de Alcalá and remain open for most of 2027. New Iberia Space locations will also open in Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Mexico City, and São Paulo in Latin America.
Current and former employees will also play a central role, with around 60,000 people expected to take part in various events across Spain and Latin America.
