Emirates has immediately suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv operated under its codeshare partnership with flydubai. The timing for resumption has not been determined.
Passengers whose final destination is Tel Aviv will not be accepted for boarding at their point of departure. Emirates will provide assistance and support to passengers already en route to Tel Aviv so that they can complete their journeys.
The airline is urging affected passengers to contact their travel agent or its contact center, or check its official website for the latest information. It is also advising passengers to confirm that their contact details are correct under “Manage Booking” so they can receive updates.
According to reports, on a flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30, the captain was stabbed by the first officer. The captain was seriously injured, and although the aircraft entered a steep descent, passengers subdued the first officer and the plane made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
