JR East to Launch teppay Code Payment Service
JR East has announced that personal information, including email addresses, of Ekinet members and Otona no Kyujitsu Club members may have been leaked following unauthorized access at IDC Frontier.
Both services are currently unable to send some emails to members. At this time, the company cannot rule out the possibility that email log data, including the email addresses of some users, may have been viewed or obtained.
The maximum number of affected accounts is approximately 1.67 million Ekinet members and approximately 390,000 Otona no Kyujitsu Club members. The personal information that may have been leaked consists of email addresses for Ekinet members, excluding Business Ekinet members. For Otona no Kyujitsu Club members, the potentially leaked information includes email addresses, membership numbers, credit card expiration dates, and dates of birth. JR East said that there is no possibility of leakage of other personal information, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and credit card numbers.
Users whose information may have been leaked will be notified individually by email as soon as arrangements are in place.
