JAL to Introduce Up to 26 Embraer E190-E2 Aircraft
Lufthansa has selected Tokyo/Haneda as the first destination for its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.
Operations will begin on the Munich–Tokyo/Haneda route from December 3. Shanghai/Pudong and Singapore will subsequently be added, with the aircraft operating alternately with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
The first aircraft (registration: D-AIFA) will feature a special livery commemorating Lufthansa’s 100th anniversary and has been named “Deutschland.” It will be the seventh aircraft to receive the centennial livery and the 700th aircraft Airbus delivers to the Lufthansa Group. Delivery is expected as early as mid-November, after which the aircraft is scheduled to be ferried to Munich.
The aircraft will have a total of 300 seats: three to four seats in First Class, including two Single Suites and one Suite Plus; 49 seats in Business Class; 35 seats in Premium Economy Class; and 212 seats in Economy Class. The number of seats in Business Class and Premium Economy Class has been increased by 40%.
The Lufthansa Group plans to introduce 15 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft by 2030. The first 10 of these will be operated by Lufthansa from its Munich hub.
