JR East Releases ‘Kyun Pass’: Unlimited Rides for ¥10,000 on Weekdays Including Shinkansen, Plus New Two-Day Option
Hokkaido & East Japan Pass: Unlimited Rides for 7 Days at 11,330 Yen
JR East and JR Hokkaido have launched the “Hokkaido & East Japan Pass.”
This pass allows unlimited boarding and alighting for consecutive 7 days on normal and rapid trains of non-shinkansen JR East Lines, JR Hokkaido Lines, Aoimori Railway Lines, IGR Iwate Galaxy Railway Lines, and Hokuhoku Express Lines, including the ordinary class free-seating and BRT.
If you wish to use the Shinkansen or limited express trains, you will need to purchase a separate ticket for the respective section and a limited express ticket. However, for the Hokkaido Shinkansen between Shin-Aomori and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto stations, seats in ordinary cars can be used by purchasing a standing limited express ticket if the transport is within these two stations. Also, sections from Shin-Tokachi to Shin-Yubari on the Sekisho Line, and from Aomori to Shin-Aomori on the Ou Main Line, can utilize ordinary car free-seating on limited express and rapid trains, limited to mutual departure and arrival within these sections. Starting March 16, the segments from Shin-Tokachi to Shin-Yubari on the Sekisho Line and from Higashi-Muroran to Muroran on the Muroran Main Line allow the use of ordinary car reserved-seating on limited express and rapid trains, limited to mutual departure and arrival within these sections.
The price for adults is 11,330 yen, and for children, 5,660 yen. The sale period is from February 20 to April 16, and the usage period is from March 1 to April 22.
In 2023, the “Hokkaido & East Japan Pass Hokkaido Line Limited Express Option Ticket” which could be used in conjunction with the “Hokkaido & East Japan Pass,” will not be available.
