Construction of a ‘Dragon Ball’ Theme Park Near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Toei Animation has announced the construction of the world’s first ‘Dragon Ball’ anime theme park in Saudi Arabia.
The park will be located within the Qiddiya project, a mega-project by Qiddiya Investment, situated about 45 kilometers from the capital, Riyadh. Spanning an area of 500,000 square meters, the park will consist of seven areas featuring iconic buildings such as “Kame House”, “Capsule Corporation”, and “Beerus’ planet”, recreating various settings from the series along with over 30 attractions.
The project will develop 103 square kilometers of a 334 square kilometer area, incorporating amenities like a golf course, drone take-off and landing grounds, an eco zone, a city center, a 20,000-seat stadium, and hotels. The initial plan had already included the attraction of a theme park. It will be connected to Riyadh by rail and is accessible in 45 minutes from the airport.
Qiddiya is one of Saudi Arabia’s three major mega-projects, with Qiddiya Investment being funded by the government’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
