‘Kobe Suma Sea World’ to Open on June 1 at the Former Site of Suma Marine Aquarium
Granvista Hotels & Resorts will open ‘Kobe Suma Sea World’ on June 1 at Suma Seaside Park.
Located at the former site of the Kobe Municipal Suma Marine Aquarium, construction work for the aquarium and park as part of the ‘Suma Seaside Aquarium and Park Redevelopment Project’ has been underway since January 2022. The opening marks the completion of the redevelopment project.
The aquarium, with the concept ‘Every life is this grand,’ will feature West Japan’s only Orca performance, a buffet restaurant where one can dine while viewing Orcas, and the world’s first educational zone ‘Orca Lab’ and ‘Orca Hall’ for learning about the ecology of Orcas. Additionally, ‘Dolphin Beach’ and ‘Dolphin Hall’ allow for interactions and learning about dolphins, while an exhibition learning about the nature of the Seto Inland Sea and the ecosystem of Kobe and Suma is also planned.
Pricing is divided into four stages with dynamic pricing. Daily rates start at 2,900 yen for adults (high school students and older), 1,700 yen for children (elementary and junior high school students) and preschoolers (aged 4 to 6), and 2,300 yen for seniors (aged 65 and above).
Access is within a 5-minute walk from JR Suma Seaside Park Station, a 20-minute walk from JR Suma Station, and a 10-minute walk from Sanyo Electric Railway Tsukimiyama Station.
