Rakuten Travel Now Supports Car Rental Reservations in Three Languages

Rakuten Group has made its travel booking site ‘Rakuten Travel’ capable of handling car rental reservations in three languages.

Newly supported languages include English, Korean, and Traditional Chinese. A simple and intuitive user interface (UI) that incorporates icons has been implemented. The initial target includes about 3,000 stores, primarily major car rental companies nationwide, with plans to gradually increase partnering locations.

From the top screen of the reservation page, you can search for available rental cars by entering the usage date, departure, and return locations as free words. Entering names of airports, stations, or cities will display nearby stores as options, making it user-friendly even for those who are traveling by connecting flights or trains, or in situations where detailed geographic information of the destination is unknown. Although Japanese reservation services display plans, car types and manufacturer names are listed, and each option is represented by pictograms. It’s also possible to specify the car model.

Car rental operators can use the same management screen as the already available Japanese service.
