Ryohin Keikaku is set to open the accommodation stay, ‘MUJI BASE TESHIMA,’ on April 26.
MUJI BASE is a facility for mid-to-long-term stays in renovated traditional houses, offering an experience of living rooted in the local community with MUJI products. Following the opening of MUJI BASE KAMOGAWA in August 2023, MUJI BASE TESHIMA becomes the second facility of its kind.
MUJI BASE TESHIMA is inherited from a traditional house, renovated over 90 years ago as dormitory for the staff operating a restaurant that was also a work of the Setouchi Triennale in 2010. It can accommodate up to 4 guests, featuring Japanese vintage furniture, modern design interiors, works by Japanese artists, and contemporary artist’s tableware primarily from the Setouchi area surrounding Teshima. It also provides a selection of records, curated books from MUJI BOOKS, and MUJI furniture and appliances.
The price starts from 49,000 Yen per night for a two-person stay in one building. An additional cleaning fee of 15,000 Yen is required. For groups of more than three, an additional 5,000 Yen per person per night will be added. Reservations can be made via Airbnb, targeting stays of two nights or more.
The access is approximately a 5-minute walk from Ieura Port.
