JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) has revealed that there are no plans for the second phase of the ‘Hokuriku Support Discount’.
The second phase was to target accommodations from May 7 to July 21 in Ishikawa Prefecture. It was announced by Ishikawa Prefecture on April 18 and sales were to start sequentially from April 19.
The ‘Hokuriku Support Discount’ is a travel support initiative targeting Fukui, Ishikawa, Toyama, and Niigata Prefectures, which were affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. The discount rate is equivalent to 50% of the travel expenses, with a maximum discount of 20,000 yen for stays and travel packages including transportation, 30,000 yen for travel packages including transportation and multiple nights, and 35,000 yen for multi-prefectural tour packages. The discount is available for domestic travelers and visitors to Japan, excluding business trips, accommodations, and bookings made before the start of the program.
