Qantas Airways will suspend its Sydney-Shanghai/Pudong route starting July 28.
Following the suspension due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, the service was resumed in October 2023, but demand has remained sluggish.
Qantas Airways will maintain its network within China through the Sydney-Hong Kong route. It will consider resuming the service if demand recovers. Passengers with bookings will be offered alternative flights and a full refund.
The surplus aircraft will be deployed on routes to various parts of Asia where an increase in demand and new tourism opportunities are anticipated.
