Uber Taxi Launches Service in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa; Partners with Kawasaki Frontale
Uber began offering its taxi-hailing service ‘Uber Taxi’ in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, starting November 20.
The service is being rolled out in collaboration with five taxi companies and an association of individual taxi operators in the city, making more than 300 taxis available in Kawasaki Ward, Saiwai Ward, Nakahara Ward, Takatsu Ward, and Miyamae Ward.
Users can request a ride through the Uber app, and benefit from features such as sharing the estimated time of arrival, GPS tracking, fare splitting with fellow passengers, and checking past ride histories.
To commemorate the launch of their service in Kawasaki City, Uber has entered into a club partner agreement with Kawasaki Frontale. A taxi vehicle wrapped with Uber Taxi branding will be showcased inside the Todoroki Athletics Stadium during the home game on November 24th. Additionally, special sales of ‘Uber Taxi Seats’ along with a 3,000 yen Uber gift card are offered to Kawasaki Frontale supporters club members.
Furthermore, the service area of Uber Taxi in Yokohama City has been expanded to include parts of Tsurumi Ward, Kōhoku Ward, Tsuzuki Ward, Aoba Ward, as well as the entire areas of Hodogaya Ward, Sakae Ward, parts of Totsuka Ward, Konan Ward, and Isogo Ward.
