JR Kyushu to Restructure Four Hotel Operating Subsidiaries
JR Kyushu announced that it will restructure its four hotel operating subsidiaries, with the reorganization taking effect on October 1, 2024.
JR Kyushu Hotel Management will be the surviving entity, absorbing JR Kyushu Hotels, JR Kyushu Hotel Nagasaki Huis Ten Bosch, and JR Kyushu Station Hotel Kokura. The name of the new consolidated company is yet to be determined. The new company will become a comprehensive hotel operator, with a portfolio that includes accommodation-focused hotels, full-service hotels, and ryokans (traditional Japanese inns).
In line with the reorganization, the company will revise its personnel and wage systems, raising wage levels by about 9%, create a specialist position to secure highly skilled professionals, and introduce a transparent evaluation system based on roles and contributions. The company also plans to exceed over half of its profit share from leasing and operating contracts with entities outside the group in the future.
