American Airlines is set to introduce high-speed internet connections on approximately 500 regional aircraft.
Over 900 mainline aircraft are already equipped with the capability to stream video content, including movies and TV shows. By expanding their partnership with Intelsat, they plan to enable high-speed connections on more than 1,400 aircraft, the most in the industry.
Intelsat’s electronically steered antennae are unique in their ability to operate across multiple orbits, interoperable with both geostationary satellite families and groups of low Earth orbit satellites, providing low-latency, high-speed internet connectivity.
