China Airlines is set to increase its service on the Kumamoto-Taipei/Taoyuan route to five round trips per week starting from February 27, 2024.
The route was initially launched with two round trips per week on Mondays and Fridays from September 18, and then added operations on Thursdays and Sundays from December 1. The airline will further expand its schedule by adding Tuesdays from the same date, operating five round trips each week. The flights will be operated with an Airbus A321neo, equipped with 12 business class and 168 economy class seats, totaling 180 seats.
StarLux Airlines also launched this route on September 1 with three round trips per week, and increased it to a daily round trip from October 29. The expansion is believed to be in anticipation of business travel demand corresponding to TSMC, a major Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer, building a factory in Kumamoto.
