Japan Airlines (JAL) will launch a Tokyo/Haneda to Doha route on March 31, 2024.
The route will be operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft with one round trip daily. It is the first time a Japanese airline has offered a route to the Middle East.
Round-trip fares start from 514,000 yen for Business Class Flex, 374,000 yen for Business Class Semi-Flex, 344,000 yen for Business Class Special, 324,000 yen for Economy Class Flex, 194,000 yen for Economy Class Semi-Flex, and 174,000 yen for Economy Class Special. All fares currently include the applicable fuel surcharge.
In partnership with Qatar Airways, a fellow member of the Oneworld alliance, the service will feature codeshare flights, allowing connections to the Middle East, Africa, and South America. The codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways’ Tokyo/Haneda to Doha and Tokyo/Narita to Doha routes will also continue.
With this new route, travel times to Riyadh, Johannesburg, Casablanca, and other destinations will be significantly reduced compared to the conventional route via London. Beyond Doha, transfers can be made by adding the appropriate fare depending on the destination.
