Turkish Airlines resumed its flights on the Osaka/Kansai to Istanbul route on December 12.
Flights from Osaka/Kansai, as well as from Istanbul, will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with four round trips per week. The service uses Boeing 787-9 aircraft configured with 30 business class seats and 270 economy class seats, totaling 300 seats. An increase in flights is also under consideration.
Turkish Airlines withdrew from the Osaka/Kansai to Istanbul route in January 2017, making this resumption a renewed operation after nearly six years and 11 months. The initial plan was to resume flights in April 2020, but this was postponed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
