JR East to Operate Overnight Trains on 7 Lines in the Tokyo Area from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day
Narita Express Timetable and Fare Revision; Discontinued Operation Between Shinjuku and Hachioji
East Japan Railway Company (JR East) is revising the timetable of the “Narita Express” limited express service as well as changing the express surcharges.
Trains will operate approximately every 30 minutes from 7 AM to 7 PM. The number of trains stopping at Chiba and Sakura stations will be increased. All operations between Shinjuku and Hachioji will be discontinued. Between Tokyo and Narita Airport stations, there will be 27 round trips, totaling 54 services per day.
The express surcharge will be differentiated based on whether it includes Narita Airport Station and Airport Terminal 2 Station or not. The fare for trips not including the two airport stations will be the same as for other limited express trains like the “Shiosai.” The discount for the Ekinet ticketless service will be reduced from 200 yen to 100 yen for adults.
Using the Ekinet ticketless service for trips not including the two airport stations, the fare will be set at 660 yen for up to 50 km, 920 yen for up to 100 km, and 1,480 yen for up to 150 km. The fare for paper tickets will be 100 yen more, and the on-board fare will be 360 yen more.
