JR Hokkaido and JR East have set an ‘Ekikara Discount Ticket’ exclusively for the Tohoku & Hokkaido Shinkansen ‘Hayabusa’ and ‘Hayate’ lines, and the limited express ‘Hokuto’ service.
The ‘Ekikara Discount Ticket Special’ for the Tohoku & Hokkaido Shinkansen (including a rail pass) is half the price of the Shinkansen e-ticket service. For example, the price for Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto to Shin-Aomori Station is 3,750 yen, and for Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto to Morioka Station is 6,610 yen. Tickets are on sale from one month prior to the departure date at 10:00 AM until 20 days before at 1:50 AM. This applies to all ordinary car and green car reserved seats on ‘Hayabusa’ and ‘Hayate’ trains.
The ‘Ekikara Discount Ticket’ (including a rail pass) for the limited express ‘Hokuto’ service offers a 40% discount off the regular combined price of a rail pass and reserved express ticket. For example, the price between Sapporo (city) / Shin-Sapporo (city) and Goryokaku / Hakodate stations, or from Sapporo (city) to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station is 5,660 yen, and from Shin-Sapporo (city) to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station it is 5,530 yen. Tickets are available from one month prior to the departure date at 10:00 AM until 13 days before at 1:50 AM. This applies to all ordinary car and green car reserved seats on all trains.
The offer is available from February 16th to 29th, 2024. Reservations and purchases must be made through Ekinet. The ‘Ekikara Discount Ticket’ differs from regular tickets in its terms of use, such as changes and refunds, and there is a limited number of seats available.
