Emirates Airline has celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Airbus A380 service to Mauritius.
The Dubai to Mauritius route was inaugurated in 2002 with the Boeing 777-300ER. On December 16, 2013, the airline introduced the Airbus A380, marking the first entry of this aircraft type into Africa. In March 2013, Emirates also operated a special flight with the A380 to celebrate the 45th Independence Day of Mauritius.
Originally operating one round trip per day, the frequency was doubled in 2014, significantly contributing to the tourism industry of the island. Emirates also implemented a codeshare agreement with Air Mauritius, enhancing convenience for travelers.
Today, flights to and from Mauritius see high passenger and cargo traffic with France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Austria, Italy, and Middle Eastern countries.
