Hankyu Corporation will start the operation of the new 2300 and 2000 series vehicles in the summer of 2024.
This model change of the vehicles is the first since 2013. The 2300 series will be introduced on the Kyoto Line, and the 2000 series on the Kobe and Takarazuka Lines. The development concept is a ‘new Hankyu style that considers comfort, safety, and the environment.’ For this, they equipped the trains with barrier-free features, and improved energy-saving performance, comfort, and safety. The seating arrangements include semi-cross seats for the 2300 series and longitudinal seats for the 2000 series.
The vehicle design retains the maroon and ivory body colors and straight-line design, while incorporating curves into the front window glass. The interior includes wood grain panels and golden-olive-colored seats, along with translucent end partitions for the longitudinal seats to create an open and airy space.
