Japan Airlines (JAL) has scheduled an extra flight today, December 29th, on the Tokyo/Haneda to Asahikawa route.
This decision comes as a result of flight cancellations on Jetstar Japan’s Tokyo/Narita to Asahikawa route, which have been caused by a strike from members of the Jetstar Crew Association, a labor union. The flights will be operated using a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
Jetstar Japan is offering affected passengers the choice of (1) transferring to another Jetstar flight, (2) receiving a refund, or (3) rebooking on a full-fare seat on another carrier including JAL Group flights, excluding taxis but including reimbursement for the use of ground public transportation, provided that the ticket is reserved and purchased in advance.
Currently, seats on flights from Tokyo/Haneda to Asahikawa, operated both by JAL and AIRDO (Air Do), are completely booked for December 29th and 30th, and nearly full for December 31st.
