Fire at a Cleaning Factory in Ishigaki City Affects Local Hotels
The Ishigaki City Tourism Exchange Association is calling for cooperation from tourists, asking them to minimize changes of bed sheets and towels at hotels following a fire that broke out at a local cleaning factory.
The fire erupted at Taiyo Linen Supply between January 2nd and 3rd, and another fire occurred in a separate building on the 4th. The factory was responsible for laundering bed sheets and towels for many of the city’s hotels and restaurants. According to Taiyo Linen Supply, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the fire department and police.
Some hotels have already reduced the frequency of linen changes. An announcement posted by a guest at the ANA Intercontinental Ishigaki Resort on platform X states that starting from January 5th, bed sheets will be changed every other day and towel exchanges will be kept to a minimum.
