Japan Airlines (JAL) has started accepting donations through miles from JAL Mileage Bank members for the disaster relief efforts following the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
Donations can be made in increments of 500 miles (equivalent to 500 yen) from January 9th to February 29th. The donations will be utilized for the support of the victims through the Central Community Chest of Japan. It does not qualify for a tax deduction.
Additionally, through ‘JAL Hometown Tax Donation,’ disaster relief donations are being accepted, with the entire amount collected being donated to local governments. There will be no mileage accrual or return gifts for these donations.
