Kintetsu Railway Discontinues Smoking Rooms on Limited Express Trains
Kintetsu Railway has announced the discontinuation of smoking rooms on limited express trains starting March 1st.
Since February 1st, 2020, all seats on limited express trains have been non-smoking, however, smoking rooms had been installed to cater to the needs of passengers who smoke. With the exception of certain limited express trains, at least one smoking room had been provided. The ‘Urban Liner’, an 8-car train set, is equipped with three rooms.
The decision to remove the smoking rooms has been made in light of the growing health-conscious trend in recent years.
