Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort has received final approval for its foreigner-exclusive casino and has decided to open the casino at 8:08 AM on February 3rd.
The “Inspire Casino” located within the integrated resort (IR) “Inspire Entertainment Resort” adjacent to Seoul Incheon International Airport is Korea’s largest foreigner-exclusive casino, boasting 150 gaming tables, about 390 slot machines, and two floors equipped with a total of 160 seats in the latest ETG (Electronic Table Games) stadium.
Inspire is led by the American company Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, with an investment of approximately $1.6 billion. It was recognized as an integrated resort project by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2016. This approval for a foreigner-exclusive casino business is the first in 19 years since 2005 and is considered the first approval under the “Special Act on the Designation and Management of Free Economic Zones” for foreign investment companies. The facility soft-opened on November 30, 2023, featuring three hotel towers, a 15,000-seat arena, and convention facilities.
