JR East Operates ‘Local Akita Bread Train’ Offering Seven Different Breads on One-way Journey Between Akita and Oga Stations
JR East, in collaboration with Takeya Bakery, is set to operate the ‘Local Akita Bread Train’ on March 9th.
The Resort Shirakami Kumagera formation will be used for the train. On the outward journey, it departs Akita Station at 8:00 am and arrives at Oga Station at 9:00 am, while on the return journey, it departs Oga Station at 9:40 am and arrives back at Akita Station at 10:40 am. The one-way course costs 1,600 yen (including tax) per person, offering seven kinds of bread on the outward journey, and the round trip costs 2,400 yen (including tax), providing eight kinds of bread in total.
During the ride, a development staff member from Takeya Bakery will provide explanations and share development anecdotes. Each course has a capacity of 60 people, and it has already reached full capacity.
