Toyama Chihou Railway and Hokutetsu Kanazawa Bus have decided to discontinue the high-speed bus Toyama-Kanazawa line as of March 15.
The decision was made due to the chronic shortage of drivers, which has been exacerbated by revisions to the driver’s working conditions and rest periods that became effective on April 1. These revisions include the introduction of upper limits on working hours, making it difficult to maintain life-line routes due to the tightening personnel situation. Additionally, the change in lifestyle due to the coronavirus pandemic has made it possible to suspend the Toyama-Kanazawa line, as alternative transportation options are adequately available.
With the discontinuation of the route, the sale of one-way tickets, coupon tickets, and season tickets will end, and refunds will be provided for unused coupon tickets and season tickets.
