United Airlines has announced that eight companies have newly invested in the ‘United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund,’ a investment fund focused on the research and development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
The investors include AerCap, Air New Zealand, Embraer, Google, H.I.S. (HIS), Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, Safran Corporate Ventures, and Technip Energies. With these new partners, the fund now has over 22 partner companies and over $200 million in committed capital.
This marks the first time a Japanese travel company has invested in the SAF sector, with HIS planning to offer sustainable tour products that designate the use of United Airlines.
