Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand have announced that the New Zealand Transport Ministry has approved the extension of their joint venture.
The two companies had initiated the joint business in January 2015. The extension is granted for a duration of five years until March 2029.
Throughout the ten-year partnership, the collaboration aims to increase the number of available seats between New Zealand and Singapore by approximately 50%, in addition to operating three round trips a day on the Singapore-Auckland route and one round trip on the Singapore-Christchurch route.
Moreover, subject to regulatory approval, the Singapore-Auckland flights will be increased from October 27, 2025, to March 29, 2025, to operate four round trips a day. This increase aims to provide greater connectivity and more options during the peak holiday seasons. The annual seat availability will exceed 893,000 seats.
