Germany’s public transport unions are set to carry out major strikes from March 7 to 8.
The United Services Union (Verdi) has called for a large-scale strike targeting ground staff of Lufthansa German Airlines from March 7 at 4 a.m. to March 9 at 7:10 a.m. The strike is expected to affect airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin, Dusseldorf, and Cologne/Bonn.
The Train Drivers’ Union (GDL) representing Deutsche Bahn employees will conduct a massive strike from March 7 at 2 a.m. to March 8 at 1 p.m. This could lead to service disruptions including cancellations and reduced schedules for S-Bahn (city trains), regional trains, and long-distance services.
