Scoot will initiate flights with the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft to six Southeast Asian cities.
In addition to the existing routes to Hat Yai and Krabi in Thailand, and Kuantan and Miri in Malaysia, Scoot will start flying to Koh Samui in Thailand and Sibu in Malaysia. The Singapore-Koh Samui route will have a daily round trip starting from May 13, while the Singapore-Sibu route will have three round trips a week starting from June 5.
The first and second aircraft will be received in April in São José dos Campos, Brazil, with plans to receive nine more subsequently. The operations on the Singapore-Krabi-Hat Yai route will begin on May 7.
This expansion will increase Scoot’s destinations to 69 cities. It is anticipated that this will enhance access to regional cities in Southeast Asia, according to the Singapore Airlines Group.
