AirAsia has launched a new route between Kuala Lumpur and Perth on March 11th.
The route will operate one round trip per day. The presence of long-haul carrier AirAsia X, which already offers one round trip per day on this route, is complemented by this service. It marks the first time short-haul airline AirAsia has entered the route. The deployment of the Airbus A321neo has made it possible to operate flights to Australia. The inaugural flight had a loading factor of 95%, with passengers receiving commemorative gifts.
From January to October 2023, AirAsia X carried approximately 30,000 passengers on the Kuala Lumpur to Perth route. The passengers are predominantly nationals of Australia, Malaysia, India, China, and New Zealand.
