The Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation began a trial operation of the ‘Cycle Bus’ on Toei Buses on March 16.
The ‘Cycle Bus’ allows two bicycles to be loaded onto a front rack. This initiative marks a first for public buses in Tokyo. Users need to load their bicycles onto the rack by themselves, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The service is free of charge.
The targeted route is the Ume01 Line (Ome Station Front – Tamadoin Art Museum (circular) – Ome Station Front). The stops where bicycles can be loaded and unloaded are Ome Station Front, Yoshino Ume Grove, Yuzuki, Yoshino (only towards Ome Station), Sawai Station Entrance, and Mitake Station Front.
