IHG Hotels & Resorts Surpasses 1,000 Hotels in the Asia Pacific Region
IHG Hotels & Resorts announced that it has surpassed 1,000 hotels in operation across the Asia Pacific region.
Over the past year, the company has opened hotels under brands such as Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Regent Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Vignette Collection, voco, and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, reaching a total of 1,012 properties.
The proportion of hotels under development in the Asia Pacific region compared to the global hotel industry is significant, with Luxury & Lifestyle brands making up 45%, and InterContinental Hotels about 60%. The region boasts 705 hotels under development across 22 countries in the Asia Pacific, with visa exemptions and the development of new air routes among the factors boosting demand.
Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President & Managing Director for IHG in East Asia & Pacific (EAPAC), said, “Reaching over 1,000 hotel openings in the Asia Pacific region, one of the most dynamic areas in the world, is a tremendous achievement for IHG.
