Korean Air Places Firm Order for 33 Airbus A350 Aircraft
Korean Air has placed a firm order for 33 Airbus A350 aircraft.
The order consists of 27 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft and 6 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, totaling an equivalent of 13.7 billion US dollars at catalogue prices.
This acquisition aims to cover the shortfall in their mid-to-long-term fleet planning as well as to anticipate the integration with Asiana Airlines. Airbus A350-1000 aircraft can operate non-stop flights to Johannesburg, while Airbus A350-900 aircraft can fly directly to New York, covering all existing routes of Korean Air and enabling the exploration of new long-haul routes.
In addition to this order, Korean Air has already placed orders for a total of 143 new aircraft, including 50 Airbus A321neo, 10 Boeing 787-9, 20 Boeing 787-10, and 30 Boeing 737-8 models.
