Tokyo Musen and Checker Cab Musen to Merge on April 1

The Tokyo Radio Cooperative and the Checker Cab Radio Cooperative merged on April 1.

Both groups, which serve the Tokyo 23 Wards, Musashino City, and Mitaka City, had been in a business partnership since April 2021. This move was in response to the legalization of ridesharing and a shortage of taxis, resulting in the formation of the largest group in the country with 68 companies and 5,048 vehicles. They plan to strengthen dispatch services primarily in the 23 Wards of Tokyo.

The official dispatch app, “Taxi Tokyo Musen,” will incorporate a net payment function and is expected to be fully operational by May. The dispatch fee via the app is free, and users can earn T Points. It’s also possible to make reservations specifying the date and number of taxis.
