Japan Airlines (JAL) announced it has been certified as ‘5-Star’ for the seventh consecutive year by the World Airline Star Rating from Skytrax, an aviation rating organization based in the United Kingdom.
Other airlines that have been awarded the 5-Star status include All Nippon Airways (ANA), Asiana Airlines, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Garuda Indonesia, Hainan Airlines, Korean Air, Qatar Airways, and Singapore Airlines, making a total of 10 companies.
The ‘World Airline Star Rating’ evaluates over 800 categories including service, seat comfort, catering, security, in-flight entertainment, and duty-free sales.
Skytrax’s CEO Edward Plaisted commented, “This top 5-Star rating given to JAL represents the high appraisal for the quality of products and services provided by the staff to customers. JAL is expected to introduce an exciting new aircraft (Airbus A350-1000) in 2024, and we look forward to its continuous progress and further improvement in standards.”
The smooth and consistent procedures from booking to check-in, in-flight, and arrival, along with services such as the coffee hand-drip and shoe shining in the JAL First Class Lounge, and the in-flight experience, were among the evaluated features.
