JR East to Launch Digital Financial Service ‘JRE BANK’ on May 9: Offers up to 40% Discount on Fares and Green Car Tickets Based on Usage
JR East and View Card will launch a digital financial service ‘JRE BANK’ starting at noon on May 9.
The service will be available through an app and a smartphone website, with Rakuten Bank as the affiliate bank and View Card as the bank agent. Those who already have a Rakuten Bank account can use the service. Integrating your JRE POINT member number allows you to accumulate JRE POINTs. Note that it does not integrate with Rakuten ID, so Rakuten Points will not be accumulated.
In collaboration with JCB, they will also issue a debit card with cash card functionality, ‘JRE BANK Debit,’ which gives one point for every 500 yen spent for those over the age of 20, and one point for every 200 yen for those under 20.
Depending on the usage, it offers up to 40% off JR East’s one-way fares and charges (up to 10 times per year), a 2,000-point discount on ‘Dokokani View–n!’ (12 times per year), and Suica Green Tickets (4 times per year). In addition, various benefits are prepared by JR East’s group companies.
