Emirates Airlines will suspend the acceptance of transit passengers in Dubai until 4:00 AM Dubai time on April 20th.
The airline has stopped issuing boarding passes to transit passengers, and only those whose final destination is Dubai will be allowed to use the service. Those already in Dubai will be accepted for boarding as usual. Affected reservations need to be rebooked.
Due to heavy rain on April 16th local time, Dubai experienced flooding at the airport and surrounding roads, leading to the cancellation or diversion of some flights. This measure aims to assist in the return to normal operations. On social media, there have been posts showing long lines of transit passengers arranging rebookings and hotel accommodations.
Dubai International Airport, due to ongoing flight delays and other issues, has advised passengers to confirm the latest information with their airline and, unless necessary, to not head to the airport.
