IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched a new project called ‘LINK,’ aimed at fostering cross-departmental collaboration and innovative thinking beyond roles and positions.
LINK is a bi-directional communication platform that connects corporate offices and hotel staff comprehensively. It was established with an emphasis on creating an environment where all staff can be involved in, recognized by, and contribute opinions to the organization. Positioned as a long-term project, it seeks to encourage an organizational culture where ideas and opinions can be freely shared.
Managed by IHG’s Tokyo Support Center, it covers Japan and the Micronesia region. A committee composed of eight board members selected from different departments of various hotels discusses feedback from the hotel front line through bi-weekly online meetings, considering areas of business that could lead to new opportunities. Noteworthy topics are shared with the leadership team, and progress on issues discussed by the senior leadership team is regularly reported back to the hotel teams through LINK.
